Aya Safa is currently an undergraduate student at the American University of Beirut (AUB)  in Lebanon, studying Biology on the Pre Medical track. In the lab, Aya focuses on performing dose-response killing assays across a panel of ICU and CF-derived isolates in the presence or absence of adenosine and other purine metabolites to observe whether metabolite-mediated antibiotic potentiation varies across clinical isolates. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine and attend medical school after completing her undergraduate studies at AUB. In her free time, Aya enjoys finding good coffee shops, going to parks, and spending time with friends and family.
